Thunderbolts Tournament in Bainbridge

Saturday we spent all day at a ball park in Bainbridge, Ga. which is about an hour away. Michaela had to be at the field by 9:30am to get warmed up. Her 1st game was at 10:30, 2nd at 12:00 noon and the 3rd at 3:30pm. They won the 1st in which Michaela was the catcher. They played against a 14U team! The 2nd they lost but the 3rd they won. They also got to play in the championship game. They were winning until the 4th inning but came back at the end of the 6th to tie it up but lost it during the Texas tie breaker. It was an awesome game and we are so proud of the girls for coming in 2nd in the tournament!

Cub Scout Pinewood Derby

Kelly was inspired by his cousin, John Michael’s, car last year and thus developed his own cheese mobile to race in his Cub Scout Pack’s annual Pinewood Derby. He was very proud of his silly little car and he and his Daddy had lots of fun during the race. During their 3 races Kelly placed 2nd, 1st and 3rd. His average race time was 4.0140. (Speaking of time…Jeff got handed over control of the timer this year because he was the only one who knew how to work the computer and get it all set up.) After the last race the front wheels of Kelly’s car came off…he raced the wheels right off! Can’t wait to see what kind of car he comes up with for next year.

Kelly was awarded the STUDENT OF THE MONTH by his teacher for the showing the character trait of Gratitude. He received a certificate, ribbon and a little goodie bag while on the school’s morning news program. Way to go Kelly!
