TFPSA Messer Fall Ball

Michaela had another winning season on her TFPSA Messer Fall Ball Team, Medtech Forensics. She was coached once again by her Dad and Andy NeSmith. Since they had won their spring season wearing purple they decided to try it again for the fall. It must be a winning color because the girls won the tournament. Way to go girls!!!

NWLLL Fall Baseball Team

Kelly played on a great fall Minor League team this fall. He was a great asset to the Bullets and played alot on 2nd, 3rd and Short Stop. He even pitched a few innings and did a great job for his first time pitching. Kelly made alot of new friends and had an awesome season...he can't wait to play Minor League this spring!!!

All Stars

This was Michaela's last year to play All Stars with North West Leon Little League. The girls lost their first game Monday night (11-1)...they were having a bad day and just couldn't all come together. Tuesday night they played an awesome game that went into the 7th inning and they won 2-1. Wednesday they played their hearts out and tied it in the top of the 6th but Chaires pulled one out in the bottom and won. I am so proud of Michaela...she caught some awesome games...the best I've ever seen her do. YOU GO GIRL!

Dothan Tournament

Jeff stepped up as one of the coaches for the tournament. He had a blast out on the field with the girls.

Michaela made two (actually 3, but I didn't get that one) catches at first to get all three outs of the inning.

We traveled up to Dothan for a travel tournament with the Thunderbolts. It wasn't the best the girls had ever played but we had a fun time together. It was our first time staying out of town and the families had lots of fun spending time together at the hotel between days. We also had lots of fun with Jeff's family, Aunt Nancy, Lloyd, Kay, Andrew, Lonnie and Christopher. We were very thankful to stay with them.

Messer Champions!

Michaela played for the Messer "FOOP" (Friends of our Parks) team this spring. Her daddy was one of the coaches and she had a great season.

Several of her friends, including Brandon, came to watch the championship game.

Machine Pitch Tournament

Kelly's Machine Pitch team, the Indians, played an awesome tournament. Jeff and I both missed the first game (the perils of having 3 kids...Michaela had a game in Fort Braden and Madie had a parent/student band meeting...Grandma and Papa took him to his game.) but he said he got some really good hits and caught the whole game...THEY WON! Next night-2nd game...Kelly was on fire! He had a base hit, a triple, a home run (okay...a single with multiple errors) to tie the game in the bottom of the 6th to put them in a tie-breaker. They settled the tie with a Texas tie-breaker (each team starts with one out and a runner on 2nd). The Brewers brought in 4 runs before Kelly tagged the last out from home (it was a beautiful play!) in the top of the seventh. When his team got back up he was 6th batter and then hit a screaming walk off home run with two outs on him to win the game!!! I don't think I've ever screamed so much and the look on his face as he crossed home was priceless. Next night-3rd game...we were all there to cheer him on. It was another exciting game and the kids played their hearts out and won! Just as they were shaking hands with the other team it started to pour. We had to have the trophy celebration under the parks new pavilion. I am so proud of all of the kids.

Her 8th year at Canopy

Michaela is playing her last year at Canopy Oaks for the Major League Force. She is enjoying playing with the girls she has grown up with and against a lot friends she has made through ball. I love the bottom left picture. The girl at bat is one of Michaela's ball friends and they like to raze each other all the time. Amber was keeping her eye on the ball all the way to Michaela's glove. Wish I could remember what the call was. Michaela has been catching a lot for the Force but also plays first base. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings.

Look at that tongue!

I was looking through the pictures that I took at Kelly's game this Saturday and noticed that he bats with his tongue out...I've gone back and looked at some others from the season and he's been doing it all the time. He's been hitting good so I guess it helps!

Play ball!

MACHINE PITCH INDIANS

Kelly loves playing baseball and is having lots of fun on this years team. He usually plays third (one of the few that can get the ball to first) and catcher (his position of choice). He has become a really good catcher. Kelly is also a pretty good hitter and as he puts it...has hit several "frozen ropes" right down the third base line.

Wakulla Wave Tournament in Marianna

The Tallahassee Thunderbolts played in this weeks tournament in Marianna. Michaela caught the first game and did pretty well but the girls weren't having a very good day. Sunday they won their 1st game but didn't fair so well for the second. Michaela got hurt in the second also. She was fielding a ball in right field when she rolled her foot on the large lip from dirt to grass. We were very proud of her though...even though she was hurt and in lots of pain she didn't give up and got the ball to second to hold the player at first. Then she went down on her knees and waited for the umpires and coaches to come get her. She had to sit out the rest of the game which almost killed her. She spent the last inning in the dugout but couldn't sit down (last picture).

Bunny Bash Tournament

This was the first tournament we've played in Donalsonville, Ga. It was a very nice park and was only a single day tournament. Nancy, our team mom, brought the girls bunny ears and painted their noses with pink dots. They all looked so cute. Unfortunately we didn't do so well that day. We won our first game but lost then next two so home we went.

Madison tournament

We spent this weekend in Madison for a tournament with Michaela. Grandma-Grandma and Nana joined us for the 2nd and 3rd games of the day. They got to see Michaela catch the 2nd game too. I thought we were going to blow away and were covered in 2 inches of field dirt by the time we left the park. YUCK!

On Sunday the weather was freezing cold and wet. The girls were all bundled up to play and huddled under blankets in the dugout. I must say that were weren't too sad to loose the game and have to go home.
