Sea World!

Michaela and her 5th grade class spent a wonderful day at Sea World. We got on the bus and left school at 4:45am, arrived at Sea World around, and spent the day wondering around the park checking out the sights with several of her friends. We loaded the bus again around 5pm and got back to school about 10pm. It was a very long day but we all had lots of fun.

Sharing good times at sad moments

On April 15th I received the sad news that my Grandma Nana had passed away late the night before. There was no question that we would load up and travel the 1000+ miles to Kansas. We drove straight thru and arrived Thursday morning at my Aunt Janel and Uncle Pat's. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LETTING US STAY WITH YOU!!! Although it was another sad occasion we all had fun catching up with each other.

Madie got reacquainted with her "charm bracelets"...Bailey, Samantha and Libby.

The kids made 100's of paper airplanes Friday night and we thru them back and forth until our arms hurt from throwing and our stomachs hurt from laughing (good way to recycle used computer paper!)

I loved spending time with my Aunt Lisa...you can't tell that we are related...can you?

UNCLE PAT GREW SOME NEW HAIR!!!

The kids really like Kansas and hope to go back there soon...for good reasons (like a family reunion...hint hint!)

Shelter Bay Railroad

Whenever we go to visit family in Kansas the kids always beg my Uncle Pat to take them downstairs to see his train. Downstairs in the back of the garage is an old bomb shelter that my Uncle has turned into Shelter Bay Railroad. He has spent much time (he says it keeps him off the streets!) painting scenes on the walls, laying lots of track, and putting together all of the buildings (many of which he has designed...he has written 2 books and has even been on DIY http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/hb_collections/article/0,2033,DIY_13874_4317852,00.html concerning his buildings and bridge...we watched an episode he had filmed while we were there.) Alot of the buildings are named for family members and friends.

Believe it or not I have never gone to the FSU circus in the 20 years I have lived in Tallahassee. I've always wanted to but it's always been an extremely busy time of year for us and we never seemed to make the time. A good friend of ours, Missy, gave us tickets to go and so we made the time. Although it was 3 hours long (way too long to sit on a wooden bleacher!) we really enjoyed ourselves.

Happy 14th Birthday Madie!

Madie celebrated her 14th birthday today. We got her a Vera Bradley Mod Floral Pink backpack, a dress she had been eyeing at Aeropostale and some make-up. She was so excited! After we had lunch at Grandma and Papa's we went to the movies. Madie and I went to see "27 Dresses" (which we loved!) while Jeff took Kelly and Michaela to "Alvin and the Chipmunks".

She cleans up pretty good!

Michaela had to dress up for her Grandparents 50th Anniversary and even painted her toes, wore jewelry and heals. Hours earlier she played in a softball game in Woodville and was covered in red clay. My tom-boy is growing up to be a beautiful girl!

Jeff's parents celebrated their 50th Anniversary with a wonderful party. We all had lots of fun and wish them many more years together!
